| [blockquote] The Others You didn’t really think humans were the only intelligent species on earth did you? Shame on you. Guess what? You’re not alone. We share this planet with you; keeping watch from hidden in the shadows. You never suspect it, but we’re there. And if you should find out about us, or become one of us… we’ll know… and we’ll be in touch. For decades, a battle has been raging for control of Angel Fall’s underground. In a city of hundreds of thousands of people, supernatural creatures live in secret. Vampires, werewolves and werecats, magic-users, shapeshifters, those with extraordinary gifts… yeah, we all exist. We’re called the Others, and our world isn’t the glamour and glitz that popular tales say; it’s dark, dirty, gritty, and full of peril. Our powers come from a separate dimension called the Twilight. This place is connected to our realm, but only Others can enter it. It’s a shadowy realm with a couple ‘levels’ to it, and let me tell you, being able to enter the Twilight is both a blessing and a curse. Two organizations govern our society – the Night and Day Watches. These two organizations have been battling for domination and trying to destroy one another ever since their conception. All Others must register with one of the two Watches, though it is not required to be an active member of their Watch. The Night Watch is reputed to be the bad side, but all they really want is to be able to use their abilities however and whenever they want without anyone telling them different. If that includes killing, stealing, smuggling, or other illegal activities… well, so be it. Sure, there are plenty who do indulge in those activities, but many others registered with the Night simply want control of their own powers. The Day Watch is the complete opposite. Their ideals are to protect the humans, and to use their abilities in a way that does not negatively affect other people (Night Watch active agents not included). Think of them as the supernatural police. They offer counciling services for Others as well, since we can’t really go into a regular shrink’s office and say, ‘hey I just got these new wacky powers, can you help me.’ For the last few years, the Night and Day Watches have been in a deadlock; neither organization has a clear lead over the other. Both sides are trying to recruit more and more Others into the active ranks, but will one Watch finally break the delicate balance in Angel Falls? Which side will you choose? [/blockquote] |
